If these parameters are not properly controlled, flux can decline and separation efficiency may be reduced.In practice, successful cross-flow filtration requires balancing permeate production with fouling control. Higher cross-flow velocity can improve surface scouring and reduce deposit formation, but it may also increase operating costs and shear stress on sensitive products. Therefore, the system must be optimized according to the properties of the feed and the desired product quality.
